1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 The competition is open to all Citizens and Permanent Residents residing in Asia, except Wiley employees and their immediate family members.
2. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
2.1 Submitted images should be in JPEG format, as originally generated by the Custom Photo Generator template.
2.2 Each participant can submit up to three (3) images.
2.3 Digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the images will not be allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast adjustment, or simple cropping will be allowed.
2.4 The contest deadline is 30 December 2016, before 11.59pm (SGT).
2.5 Participants are entirely responsible for all entry-related costs.
3. COPYRIGHT/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
3.1 The participant shall retain copyright to the image entered for the competition.
3.2 By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having granted the organizer the right to use the image in print, broadcast and/or electronic media without any fee payment, for the purposes of promoting the competition or areas related to the organizer's work including:
i. Social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
ii. Email
iii. Website
Where any image is so used by the organizer, the participant will be acknowledged accordingly.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There will be 15 prize winners who will each win a limited edition gift card with a S$15 value stored in the card. Prizes are non-transferrable and non-exchangeable for cash or in kind.
4.2 The organizer reserves the right to change or replace the competition prizes and/or modify the rules and regulations of the competition as and when necessary, without prior notice.
4.3 The organizer shall not be liable for any fault with any of the prizes and any issues or queries relating to the condition of the prizes should be referred to the manufacturer/supplier of the prizes.
5. JUDGING AND RESULTS
5.1 The images will be selected by a panel of judges and their decision is final. No correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision will be entertained.
5.2 The panel of judges will evaluate the images based on the following criteria:
- Visual appeal.
- Extent to which the text in the bullet points best describes the significance of the image.
5.3 Images will be judged based on originality, creativity and relevance to the "Celebrate Learning with Dummies" theme.
5.4 The judging panel reserves the right not to award the prizes if the images submitted do not meet the requirements stated in this document.
5.5 Results of the competition will be posted on the "Celebrate Learning with Dummies" competition website, Facebook and Instagram posts, and winners will also be notified via email.
6. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND REGULATIONS
6.1 By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having accepted and agreed to be bound by the rules and regulations of the competition.
6.2 While the organizer will exercise due care during the collection, selection and storage of images, the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to all Material shall vest solely and absolutely in Wiley without further compensation.
6.3 Winners are required to provide their full particulars including their full NRIC/Passport/Identification number for the purpose of verification and audit. All prizes which are not won or remain unclaimed after two (2) months of the announcement of winners will be fortified.
7. ORGANIZERS
7.1 The "Celebrate Learning with Dummies" photography competition is organized by John Wiley & Sons Singapore Pte. Ltd.
